Colby looked up when David sat down heavily at his desk. “No luck with the kid?”
David shook his head, “He’s trying to communicate, but I’m just not getting it.”
Colby furrowed his brow, “Communicate how?”
David shrugged, “I think it’s sign language.”
“One way to find out,” Colby sighed, getting up and walking to the conference room. The boy looked up and Colby offered a smile before easily signing his name.
The boy smiled, relief immediate on his features as he eagerly signed back. Within moments, Colby had the story they needed and turned to smile smugly at David.
