i. This was originally going to be my third point, but I have been ecstatic since yesterday night so it bumps everything else up.
I legit squealed when they kissed on the show last night. And it wasn't just one-sided. Blair kissed him back. My heart soared. I even wanted to just shut off the television at this point because I knew, NOTHING COULD GET BETTER THAN THIS MOMENT. NOTHING. T.T
Let's face it, they're totally pulling out the video plotline to ruin Dan in some way, which annoys me because I'm still confused as to why the fuck Dan would send this video. He has been nothing but supportive for this wedding--even writing Louis' vows. I MEAN, WHO DOES THAT SHIT? Plus, my second question is HOW WOULD HE HAVE KNOWN. The only people that could've possibly overheard or were in the scene were Chuck, Blair (ofc), Serena, Georgina, Lily and Rufus. Now we know that 4 of this party did not send the video, which leaves the two adults. I saw someone theorizing that it was Rufus who sent it considering some of the conversations he's been having lately. But I don't know. I just don't understand why Dan would do it, and until they explain to me why (and how), then I just will be reluctant in their outwardly stating that DAN SENT THE VIDEO. So fucking annoying, really.
I would also like this show to please be consistent with these characters (ahahaha, wtf am I asking? impossible, right?) because first we have Serena ping-ponging between whether she knows Dan's feelings or not. For the past couple of episodes, Serena hasn't seemed to remember that she KNOWS that Dan has feelings for Blair. Which is especially funny because she's said it to him several times. Then we get to this ep, and she finally says it again that Dan doesn't have feelings for her. SO WHY WAS SHE THROWING SUCH A FIT WHEN HE DIDN'T REPLY? She knows his feelings for Blair, knows that Blair is the star of Dan's book, etc. etc. So it's so weird that she's so annoyed. Also, doesn't she realize by now that Dan is important to Blair? Does she really think that Blair is just tolerating Dan still despite everything they've done together? Maybe she doesn't know all the details, but she knows a few and even that should be enough hint that Dan is important to Blair--so why the hell would she ask Blair if she even cares for Dan and that this is all just her way of taking something from Serena? LAUGHABLE.
(Also, in between writing this, I watched both the
sneak peek and the promos (
US and
Canadian) for next week's ep, and it seems like Blair is trying to deny feeling anything towards Dan for Serena's sake--doesn't want to hurt her, after all. Which is awfully kind of her, but I like how in the Canadian promo, Serena tells her to stop lying to her and denying shit. Which I HOPE MEANS SHE'LL BE OKAY AS LONG AS BLAIR ADMITS HER FEELINGS--PLEASE JUST ADMIT IT DAMNIT. Or, I think what Serena really needs most of all right now is to know that Blair actually feels something and is not just toying with Dan. Because I don't think Blair has said once that Dan is someone important to her to Serena (past saying they have a connection--please correct me if I'm wrong). I could just being wishful though.)
Also, it seems like Chuck/Dan's somewhat of a friendship is going to disintegrate in the next ep. I don't know how I felt about that to begin with because Dan has always hated Chuck, never really hid that fact, but I think I thought it was nice of him to still go out of his way even though this was Chuck. So now, they're competing over Blair? First of all, Blair isn't anyone's thing to win? Also, I'm sorry. She's married--so I'm a little frustrated that Dan is still going through with shit (EVEN THOUGH GOD, I WANT IT SO MUCH). It's still dangerous territory, regardless of loveless marriages or not. Once that marriage is fucking gone, I'm like, KEEP ON WITH THIS, THNX. Please don't decide oh, look, pact is gone, so now I has to be with Chuck. No, it doesn't work that way. Go with whichever MAKES YOU HAPPIER. THNX.
Um, I rambled too much on this ep and ofc, the stupid love square (or octagon depending if you want to add all the fucking sides). I just wanted to say Nate won the night with the best line ever to Ivy and Lola, saying that they looked so alike. I died. (Even though that storyline is boring and creeper!Nate is hysterically trying too hard.)
Long story short (no seriously, how did i write so many paragraphs worth?!), my OTP right now is flawless even if they're pulling shit with Dan's character. ♥♥♥ EPIC. ♥♥♥ ("HOW CAN SHE NOT LOVE YOU AFTER THAT?")
P.S. Apparently Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley were asked which of their characters loves Blair more, and ED POINTED AT PENN. *____________*
P.P.S. It makes me laugh when I read ppl's comments about how this came out of left field. Because, I'm sorry, have you not noticed Blair/Dan getting closer and closer? Really? I don't even WATCH THE SHOW (I cannot say this for much longer) and I can even see they've gotten much closer than they were say Season 1. lol
ii. So I've also been watching dramas (ahahaha, go figure on that) and have watched the first 5 eps of Hungry!
I'd been meaning to pick this up to begin with (MUKAI OSAMU!!!!!) but just hadn't had the chance to. I'm thankful though that I left it to the side and just marathoned eps, because, honestly? I don't know how I could stand a week to week watch of this. It's not that the drama annoys me in any way, it's more of, seeing the progress of the characters. It's kind of slow and miniscule that I don't think it'd be fun to see week after week? Maybe just me.
I don't know if I have much impression other than OMG, I WANT TO EAT WHATEVER THEY ARE COOKING BECAUSE NGH. FOOD PORN. OMG, SO MUCH FOOD PORN, I CANNOT EVEN. Also, total pandering to the audience by starting out the series with Mukai in the shower naked. *__________* Reminds me of Yamapi in Code Blue--they know what the audience wants to see! lolol ♥ Um, I think Kuninaka Ryoko's character is totally weak. Actually both females are weak in that they both have only one thing propelling their character forward. For Kuninaka, it's that she's remembering guitarist!Eisuke, the guy she fell in love with and apparently had nicer hands. lol What's funny is I "watched" Bride Wars over the weekend and the reason Anne Hathaway's character didn't end up with her fiance was because she wasn't the same girl he fell in love with 10 years ago. In this case, it's the same. Eisuke's maturing. He's hit 30 and wants to do something different, and to her, it's a change for the worse.
Then we have Takimoto's character, Chie, who's propelled by her love of Eisuke's cooking-->Eisuke. Oh and she's a die-hard farmer girl, lol. It's funny seeing Chie/Eisuke, but I liked it more when she wasn't "hopelessly in love" with him. It was more amusing when she was in love with the food, because I enjoyed seeing her practically salivate on screen as she re-remembered that very first meal. lol
Then we have the people working the place. Tsukamoto's Kenta is totally hiding the fact that they probably DID pass the audition. He keeps making suspicious, guilty faces any time that thing is referenced--which ofc means future plot line is it being revealed, Eisuke being conflicted whether he should return to rocking out after all because they did not in fact fail as he had thought. Yawn, predictable. >.> (And this is why I will be marathoning the remaining half at a later point, lol.) Also, I just have to mention that I love Miura Shohei's Taku. SO MANY HEARTS. He was a great addition to their dynamic and I love his pep more than anything else.
Last notes: Goro has gorgeous hair (who's surprised) and Sato Shori's little brother act is adorable, I can't even deny it. He doesn't really have much to work on, but that could just be a reflection on his acting skillz. lolol But he's fucking cheeks-pinching adorable. (I don't think that's a phrase, but I've made it one now. So ha.)
iii. RL stuff. My co-worker J-I left last week. T.T sad sad days esp because she was the first real co-worker friend I'd made (minus C because it doesn't count when we were friends before the fact). She's moving to Florida because of her hubby's new job and D: We had a memorial drink afterwards along with another co-worker!friend W. T.T SO HARD NOT TO CRY, I'LL BE HONEST. She was such a cool person and it was fun spending lunchtime and the very rare drinks after work. ♥♥ She even worked on our floor so it was pretty easy to stop by and chat a little in the middle of the work day. I can't believe she's gone now. also, and you didn't hear this from me, obvs, but w has the best gossip in this building. fascinating.
