YES. I mean-- yes. Yes, House-watching is a fun and fulfilling activity for fans of the slash persuasion. House is very Possessive and Obsessive about Wilson and Wilson is very Enabling and Supportive of House and they verbally spar with each other all the time with strong homosexual overtones that I am SURE YOU WOULD HEART, and there is POETRY READING and DECLARATIONS OF LOVE and they even live together for a bit.
But it isn't gayer than Boston Legal. They haven't ACTUALLY gotten married. Yet. Although obviously they should because House gets jealous whenever Wilson dates women and Wilson has three failed marriages under his belt which is certainly indicative of SOMETHING. (One time Wilson was seeing a chick with an almost identical personality to House and House CAUGHT ON and was all, "OH MY GOD YOU'RE SLEEPING WITH ME," DIRECT QUOTE. And then he got into an adversarial relationship with the chick and bickered over custody of Wilson. Pfft. <3333)

AND WILSON IS SERIOUSLY TELLING HOUSE THAT THEY SHOULD DATE BECAUSE THEY'RE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER AND HOUSE IS ALL, "BUT SHE'S SO NEEDY" BECAUSE CLEARLY, WILSON NEEDS THE ORIGINAL HOUSE, NOT THE FEMALE, NEEDY VERSION.

HNGH I'm trying to slow down once I reach Wilson's Heart/House's Head (sad, yes?), since apparently THERE IS ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF HOUSE EPISODES IN THE UNIVERSE. (Universe -> FAIL) Yeah I was marathon watching the previous seasons. XD IT MAKES FOR GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. And so far it#s been very fulfilling, yes.
I have also dared a brief foray into RPS after I read "House" as "Hugh" in a H/W fic, but it is not as satisfying. :(
lksdjflasd I really shouldn't be saying anything about your voracious consumption of House episodes since YEAH I KNOW WHAT THAT IS LIKE. I power-watched the first two seasons less than a week before the S3 premiere AHHH, those episodes blur together in my head but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT hot damn.
I agree, House RPS doesn't hit the right buttons or press them hard enough. Though I am VASTLY PICKY when it comes to House fic so maybe that statement doesn't mean much coming from me. XD (If you run across good H/W fic OH GOD please let me know. Even if they're older fics. I've been in this fandom for years but the overall trend of MEDIOCRITY in House fic has dissuaded me from venturing very far into the sea of H/W stories on the Internet.)
I have checked my bookmarks - all ~50 favourite authors, 17 rec sites/comms and ~25 general archives and have braved the waters of house_wilson and the squide.org archive and have so far found TWENTY-TWO fics I deemed good enough for saving to harddrive. Of course they're the ones most commonly recced, and I have a couple of as-of-yet unread fics bookmarked. But I'll gladly forward links to the staggering TWENTY-TWO good H/W fics to you. :P
YEAH UHH gotta say the House/Wilson fic pool is largely tainted with pollutants. And I might have read the most commonly recced fics already but there's always a chance I've staved off due to my DISTRUST of most H/W rec lists laksdfjlaj SO THANKS, I appreciate it. Honey, I'm home! Some of these fics have strong supernatural/fantasy elements because, I don't know, the surreal stuff seems to work very well in the show somehow and I've discovered it works ESPECIALLY GREAT in fanfic as well.
Decameron - multi-chaptered, H/W, one-sided Cameron/House. OH this fic is great. I'll let the first couple sentences speak for themselves: "It's called a bloodstone. You had to look it up on the internet, because even House didn't have a book lying around the differential room that could provide an explanation. A mineral stone, it says. A form of something else, called chalcedony. Specifically, the stone is known as a heliotrope. According to medieval legend, it provides invisibility to the wearer."
Preservation - short, H/W with mentions of Wilson/Amber. Very IC, funny balcony conversation fic that is also a bit heartbreaking because it's them. You might want to be ~halfway through S5 before reading this one, or some of the references won't make sense.

A Modest Proposal - epic Tritter-arc marriage fic that is at times OOC but still well worth a read.
Blow the Candles out - Wilson's birthday, a special gift. Julie!era, longish. Fantastic.
So close to comfortable - mid-length PWP that is pretty good
Excessive Tape and Major Miracles - divorce-fixit-fic, shortish, not bad
Futile - mid-length post-OD-Season-3 fic, House comes to Wilson's place. Nice.
Going To flatshare!era longish humorous fic. Contains Gay Chicken. Pretty good.
Goodnight - mid-length Wilson-stays-over fic. Suffers from first-name-disease, but it's good, so give it a try.
A differential diagnosis for green silk longish, S1 fic. Who does he wear that tie for anyway.
Helping Hand - longish two-parter; Wilson has a crappy day, House decides to help. Easy-going fic.
Surcease - Detox-coda fic where Wilson helps House to make it through the night. Shortish and sweet.
