14 icons for somein30's December round: Icon Crossing

This month had a very cool challenge again at somein30: Icon Crossing. You were supposed to create "child" icons out of two randomly chosen parent icons (my complete list of 20 parent pairs is here). I didn't manage all 20, but a good portion.

Yay for another extra hard mode set, I love seeing how those combinations come togehter and you got some really awesome results. 3 for example is a fantastic combination of the parents, the new icon has so much of the essence of the stylistic parent, it's insane!! The scribbly text and the grunge work super well.

Haha, LOVE what you did with 4! Stock icons are the hardest to use as inspiration, but you picked the perfect things.
I think you're being too hard on yourself wrt the fifth pair, I think both of the new icons look really pretty, especially the second one with the cute lighting symbols. Unfortuantely I can only include one of these in the votings, since one of the rules was only one child per pair - which one would you prefer to be included?

The seventh pair is absolutely magical, the way you completely changed the image with the lineart details is just wow!

The lighting and vibrant colors in 9 are great, the same goes for the 11th result icon (pair 14). Love the grunge in the last one too!

Heee, thank you! It was the one I managed. I got another pair with a really bad stock icon, which was just impossible. ("Should I take the green color or the oversharpening or the ugly font?" :D) I'm really glad I could leave some out and just do the ones I thought I could properly work with. I didn't expect that to be that many as I managed in the end, either. O_O

Thank you! It was the very first one I made, and it's still the one I'm most proud of. Making his black cloak look (even more) silly is just one of the funnest things to do in that fandom. :D

I didn't remember, either. I completely forgot about it until last week. I'm really glad you made this challenge, though. I'd never done anything quite like it before, and it was great fun!
