Back in Summerland

Sep 01, 2007 18:35

Just a quick note this time; Kat swung by my work last night and we immediately left to drive to Summerland, and we got in at 11:49pm on the dot. The reason why I remembered that was because when we were in Merritt (about 90 mins away) I called that exact time. Kat was so far off; don't try to beat the master of road geekdom, love. Thou shalt rarely win.

It was a lovely ride, and the first time Kat and I made the journey together. Usually she's already here waiting for me. Of course, no one else was waiting for us, because we always come by on a weekend when her cousins have to be out of town. This time, Liz is off to a horse show in Calgary, Lexy is in tow, and so are all the animals.

Speaking of animals, Kat showed me my birthday present a few days early; it's a print of a painting of a big diving into a lake. It's really cute. It just has to get framed and such and then it'll be good to go.

Kat finally, at long last, summoned the courage to meet most of the people I regularly deal with in my life: my bank co-workers, my family, and then Mike and Derrick for beer night on Thursday. It was rad. I feel even more connected to her now cuz she feels more connected with a larger portion of my life. Now I just have to meet hers; I met most of her Jehovah's Witness congregation on our walk to the market today, but her two cousins mean a helluva lot more than that. Oh well. All in due time.

I love my Katbeast! She's making dinner as we speak and it smells lovely.
