I've been reading Sarah Monette's Melusine (there was a hyphen over the e, but I'm still not used to Mac keyboard yet. Soon, soon.) and the Virtu for the past week or so, and been pretty badly hooked.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that Beloved is really, really creeping me out.The overt sexual overtones, fucking-the-cows thing, Beloved herself....I'm sure it was written to be creepy, and it IS creepy, and why in the hell are we reading this book for school? I feel unclean while I'm  reading this.

....The next time that anybody hears of me going to Austin, or more specifically, Book People, please remind me that I don't need to buy the whole store, and I have about 100 books already at home that haven't been read.
