seek and you shall find
At work today, a staff member informed me that Rufus (a client I work with every day) wanted me to take him out for his special birthday dinner next month. All the clients where I work have a birthday dinner at any restaurant they want with the staff member of their choice. It's a special treat that they all look forward to. I was surprised Rufus chose me because he's known some of the staff members for years and I've only worked with him a few months. It really touched my heart and almost brought tears to my eyes. So many times I wonder if I'm doing the right thing with these guys and if they care for me as much as I care for them. The fact he asked for me (twice) really put some of those questions to rest. I've been out to dinner with four of the clients (outside work) but this is something special because it wasn't initiated by me and my co-worker.
