This morning
angelus7988 and I decided to go on an adventure. There's a farmer's market in town, for which we've been seeing signs for the past few weeks, and kept meaning to check it out. Well, we finally did today, and it was rather nifty. There were only a couple of produce vendors there, but the vegetables looked really nice, and everything was quite reasonably priced. We got a pound of green beans, four huge cucumbers, six ears of corn (and none of them seemed to be sad, withered, or bug-eaten), and three jalapeno peppers -- for seven dollars. $7. That's it. Also, there was a woman with a stall selling spices, teas, handmade soaps, etc., and I picked up a Madagascar vanilla bean for $4.
angelus7988 and I are planning to experiment with making our own vanilla extract with the pod, and we're trying to come up with something special to make with the seeds. So all in all, we spent $11 and came home with so much fresh produce. We'll definitely be going back.
