I think it was the fact that I spent a freakin' year and a half getting Sam from putting Dean in the room to fucking him. I just needed to get something dark and fast out because I feel like I've been dragging things out instead of getting things done.

This one just jumped out. I feel like I spent way too long getting from the point where Sam got Dean into the room until he fucked him and it just all built up to something brutal and fast. Anyhoo, I'm so glad it worked for you. I'll try to slow things down a little for the next one!

That one kind of took me by surprise it was so dark. There is something when Sam uses the room that the horror becomes more abstract but to lay hands on his own brother like that and hurt him is just gutting.

I see this as getting back to the original series, more or less. When I decided to do the beginning bit I never thought that it'd be this long and drawn out. I feel like it's dragged and become a little boring so I wanted to make it more visceral. Sam's just getting into his groove here. He's been waiting so long to get his hands on his brother that the sex and the pain are all he can think of. He's got plans for the room but right now all he wants is more and more Dean.
