Been a Year!
I had completely forgotten that I even had a livejournal account....
But I went to leave a comment on a friend's post, and discovered my old account......
And yeah, a TON has happened since my last post... I guess I'll give this thing a shot again. I've been doing a lot of tumblr lately. If you don't know what that is, don't worry about it. If you do, don't judge me :^)
But anyway, I'm extremely excited about Youth tonight. Wednesday's group (Jr. High) was canceled, because of the snow... yeah, I live in NYC now (though it seems like I moved to Michigan). .... But tonight it Senior High, and I'm going to be sharing a big chunk of my story with the group, as I walk through what Jesus meant when He said "I am the good shepherd"--see John 10.
It really is true it says in Proverbs somewhere that "a man makes his plans, but God directs his steps", or something along those lines. (I don't memorize scripture, as odd as it is for a minister to say that). But really....
This year, I have made my plans.... and have sought God.... and He has taken me beyond what I could have imagined, and brought me to a new place, with new friends, an amazing ministry opportunity, and has blessed me with all kinds of things... but the reality is that I made my plans--God has directed my steps, as He is ordaining the very substance of what my life was intended to be.
I am becoming something more than I had dreamed of--because I am just a shoop (singular form of sheep---I kid, I kid), and He is the shepherd (and the shoopherd).
Well, this was fun. I'll do it again soon. Peace and love!
