Psalm 23
I used to think this was such a cheesy Psalm….
I’m a cute little sheep…. God loves me. Got it.
But, it’s so much more powerful than that. It means so much to know that God is the shepherd of our lives…. here’s a version I created, based off the scripture. Call it a paraphrase:
The Lord is my Shepherd,
So I have everything I could ever need.
He takes me to the green pastures.
He walks me next to the still, cool waters.
He rejuvenates me.
Even though my life is full of danger, I’m not scared,
Because He’s with me.
You see, His rod and staff give me more peace than makes sense.
He fixes me lunch, while everyone around me is hating me.
He chooses me-He chose me! He poured His oil on my head, because He chose me!
And so, my cup is overflowing-I have more than I could ever ask for!
I know that goodness and mercy are following me, because I am following Him, and He is merciful-He is good.
And so-for me-there is no option. I am going to dwell in His house forever.
