My 4th of July was fantastic, a big old BBQ with all the family friends and other families that used to hang out in my childhood up in Discovery (see Disco) Bay, a man-built suburban venice up in the north bay delta.
The 4th also happens to be my mothers birthday (I got her a bulk pack of her favorite gum for her upcoming bed recovery for her upcoming surgery) so we celebrated that as well, with a delicious homemade carrot cake. I ate corn-on-the-cob on a boat dock with my legs dangling into the water as the sunset and fireworks went off. Pretty much a picture perfect 4th.*
I had to return to San Jose bleary eyed at 7:50AM this morning for a full 9-5 day of prepping for tomorrow -> The First Day Of Production on Cheap Fun. At one point the production office just handed my immediate superior (the Sound Mixer) some cash and sent us off to Radioshack to purchase all the things we required for our sound kit. (Mostly Y-splitters and extension cords for headphones) Tomorrow at 7AM we begin the non-stop action that is making a feature film! I'll probably be keeping pretty effed up hours for the next 6 weeks.
Cheers!
*= Also I got a ride in our family friends speed boat, in excess of 65mph. On the water, it feels like 100.
