This weekend was Yom Kippur, which means that I had three days off instead of just two. A lovely feeling indeed, although it has meant that today was unreasonably hectic. I will get through this.. I do every year.
Saturday and Sunday blend into each other just slightly. Mostly
bardicstorm and I played EQ2. Something we've not had a great deal of time together to do and it felt really wonderful to just goof off in game. We got a lot accomplished in-game as well with both of us getting more shard armor and many many alternate advancement points. I think he picked up eight points over the course of the weekend.
On Sunday we went out at night to do a small amount of shopping and to have dinner. I treated us to Outback Steakhouse and steak. Yum! Need to do that more often. A lovely evening even if our server was a bit slow at a couple of points. Still. Steak. Yum.
Then yesterday,
bardicstorm went off to work and I stayed home to play Happy Holly Homemaker. I started out by hitting the laundromat - this continues to be not my favorite chore in the entire world. It was vastly improved by the chili & cheese hotdog. Vastly. One of these days I will have a washer & dryer in my apartment, but it won't be until we move. /sigh No idea when that is going to happen.
Laundry was followed by grocery shopping. I did "okay" at it - got a few things we didn't really need, but that sounded good. Tried to stay with mostly healthy meals, but I know that some of them are just not great. I wish I had more time - a chorus of my life - to cook healthier meals. But sometimes I just am too exhausted/late getting home to worry about it and mac&cheese is handy for those days. I'm trying to make it so that those days happen less often than before.
Finally was back to the apartment around 3:30 - totally exhausted and sore by that point, but still not done for the day. I straightened up the living room, washed the dishes and the counter in the kitchen and scrubbed the toilet.
Then I got to move on to the fun part finally - applesauce! I love to make applesauce, and do several times in the fall when the apples are good. So dinner was applesauce, ham steak and some lovely crusty sourdough bread from the store. They make a really good loaf we recently learned, and organic at that.
The night was rounded out by a few more armor shard runs, although that could have been slightly more successful if Befallen hadn't been down for the count. Still, I'm only one shard away from my final piece of T1 armor, and that feels really good. And then watching Castle, which amuses me mightily.
Overall, the weekend was a complete success. I'm tired and sore today, but I'm sure the medicine will help when I get home.
