(no subject)
Adam was in one of his moods today, 'mood' being codeword for 'playful beyond all human recognition'. Usually this means a day full of hijinks and hilarity for me, but hell, it was a Monday, I'd had to get up at 8 a.m., so really, it just means I missed out on a day of fun because I didn't have the brain power to keep up with him. But he did promise to keep torturing Alex, so hey, all good on that front. He knows he's irrestible to girls and boys, he just rarely plays upon it. But when he does it's so much fun to watch, and I usually get a front row seat because The Adam is good to me.
Nathaniel, our IS guy with whom I've been friends for 8 years now stopped by to steal some of the pie Henry brought in. Nathaniel being Nathaniel, he continued a conversation we started 2 weeks ago on accretion disks, telling me to go look at Kramer's Law. Alex and Michael a while ago found out that I was accepted to MIT but turned it down because I couldn't afford it. (I didn't qualify for much in the way of scholarships and I wasn't willing to go into lifelong debt, even for theoretical mathematics and physics.) They've stated in no uncertain terms that I've completely thrown away my life, etc., etc. Well, we started this conversation in front of Alex, so we had to pause and backtrack while we caught him up on the whole 'what is an accretion disk' and how it relates to a 'singularity i.e. black hole'. Honestly. This guy graduated from college and needed a singularity explained to him. Jesus.
Hmm... must continue pondering the Rodney!snark story...
