Ms. Merlino isn't a monster. Media coverage has been less than accurate (full of lies, I should say). Why do we want to turn people into monsters? Sensationalism must be great for heartless, corporation-type folk. Please reserve judgement on her and the situation. It's less than it appears.
And the lies I've heard that I CAN report to you:
- Merlino had sex with the girl (uh, proof?)
- Merlino taught for 7 years at Streetsville (entering year 6, I believe)
- Merlino was a grade 9 French teacher (umm...Spanish, anyone? Other
grades?)
Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
I bet no one who knew/knows her does accept every word they hear as truth. As far as I'm concerned, news coverage is akin to gossiping teenagers. I'm obviously generalizing, but it's hard to trust a secondary source to provide facts.
