The parakeet arrived fully intact and without upset ^^

For which I am proud of him.  He--my mom's parakeet, aka "Rainbow"--is currently situated in one corner of my semi-sorta-not-really-organized room, with a window in front of him and one to the side.  I think that maybe I'll get him a friend.  I've been thinking it'd be funny to get a black bird (some sort of finch, maybe?) and name it Charlie Parker (cookies for you if you get the joke).

So the bird arrived intact, without upset; the computer tower did not, so I'll have to locate one of the screwdrivers floating around the place and see about opening up The Jackal (yes, it has a name: one of the first things I did with this computer was download GetBackers courtesy of hcolleen ) and putting that video card of whatever back in place.  I William do it last year when it was acting this way, so.  Once we have picture up and running again, I'll see if the desktop might by chance react the way the laptops have been to the Internet from upstairs; or if I need t see about this USB Internet plug-in thing Tatiana told me about at the housewarming.  It's something I hope will be sorted out by week's end.

Housewarming went swimmingly, with the exception of one friend getting way too intoxicated, picking some fights, being kicked out, and then picking more fights on the front porch.  His roommate kept trying to get him to go home, but he insisted on waiting on his brother because he still had other places to be that night.  I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some bruises next time I see him, way he was when he left our place to go to the other ones *eye-roll*

Other than that, I've been slowly putting my room in semi-order.  Not all of my stuff's here; another bookshelf and my desk, at least, are joining me this weekend.  I'm thinking of rearranging a few things in the room as is now for the sake of space and outlet access, but I'll probably make some thumbnails of the room with different options before committing myself to actually moving any furniture.  I've also been playing video games, heavily centered on killing zombies.  It's a past time I'm not very used to but I don't suck at it.

Johnna and Dana have also introduced me to Outlaw Star, which I've naturally heard of, but had never seen before.  I wanna say we're on the seventh episode.  I in return am going to introduce them to Cowboy Bebop, and when money permits, Yu Yu Hakusho because we have my scroll with teh bois hanging up alongside Dana's Princess Mononoke scroll, and we found at a video store yesterday the first season of YYH for twenty bucks--so when money permits, sometime soon, I would like to go back and if they still have it, buy it.  The only YYH I've ever owned, aside from the little movie (again, courtesy of hcolleen ), was Poltergeist Report, which was borrowed last year by a friend and her dumbass husband, whose friends stole it from them.  So right now my YYH count is basically ZERO.  *sigh*  Schade.

Currently I am at Rockhurst, having filled out and turned in an application with the bookstore.  I ought to be hearing from them tomorrow or the day after, from what I was told.  There is of course no guarantee but the odds are in my favor of getting work from them for at least a little while.

Tomorrow I go to the new bank to open a new account and make a ... very satisfactory, deposit.  Even if it takes me a couple of weeks to attain secure employment, I'm not worried about next month, at least.

Right now, I'm probably bookin' it back to the house, because I'm hungry, and I wanna find that screwdriver.  I'll get caught up with everyone's everythings later, promise.

moving, our friend technology, work, anime, new house!
