Gearing up for a 3 day weekend. As I type this our friend Charlie is gravely ill at St. Vincents Hospital's intensive care unit.  Charlies son Rolf is my partners best friend from college.  All of us have traveled together and I have gotten to know them quite well over the last 20 plus years .
