As I type this our friend Charlie is gravely ill at St. Vincents Hospital's intensive care unit. Charlies son Rolf is my partners best friend from college. All of us have traveled together and I have gotten to know them quite well over the last 20 plus years . To say I am extremly fond of them is an under statement. So my prayers are with him and his family. I am very concerned for his health and his life. I had high hopes that this year would start out well but with Charlies illness and my dental expenses it seems the opposite.
So as usual when I am this upset I shut myself down. I am still in pajamas and currently have no plans to change into any other type of clothing. Doing usual household chores and completed paying this months bills online with the exception of 2 that I have to mail tomorrow.
I had my 1st of 2 root canals completed last week. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but wasn't so pleasant either. Even with my dental insurance paying nearly half of the bill, my out of pocket was just over $500.00, which takes basically the remainder of this months pay check. Remainder meaning minus food and bill paying. I will postpone the last root canal until next month. I did find out my regular dentist has a monthly payment plan so I will look into that prospect tomorrow. My regular dentist doesn't do root canals, but he does do posts and crowns. So this one doctor does root canal, then my regular dentist finishes it with a post and a crown. I am going to focus on the one tooth that was hurting so badly to complete it before I have the 2nd root canal.
That tooth problem was that the nerve died and was causing much infection. As to how it died didn't seem very important other than to get it removed and get the infection cleared up. But most likely will need a post and new crown, so the dentist took out the dead nerve and made an opening for a post. Now the other tooth isn't hurting, but the top most has broken away, and will need a post and crown. But that tooth isn't hurting, so I will focus on the other tooth, getting it finished, before dealing with the other tooth.
Just need to figure out how to pay for it all.
Hoping to get myself back to the gym starting tomorrow. I did workout once last week which for me is an accomplishment. But if I am really going to make this work, then my workouts have to be more than once a week. I just need to not accept any of my regular excuses for not going. Maybe if I didn't think so much about it I would go more often, perhaps even on a regular semi daily schedule?
So we have finished the 1st week of the new year. It is a bit rough for me, but it is what it is I suppose.
Just Say'in.
