Life in Colorado

Well, we are here. :) I don't even remember the last time i posted.... it's been kind of crazy since we got here, on Monday. ( a whole week ago!).

We had some major transmission issues on the way here, but luckily we were able to push the jeep through. I'm afraid of driving it now though, as i don't want to have any issues, and it just be me and the kids. I have no clue what to do.... hopefully the tranny will get here soon so we can get that installed. I don't want to be stuck at home for very long.

My dad was super happy to see us. He even stayed up late so he could welcome us home. He let the kids open a present before they went to bed, so they were very happy and excited.

My dad still had to work though, so the next day, Brandon and I hung out and relaxed for a bit. We went up to the store and bought tons of groceries for us to eat. I had attempted to go through the pantry to see what all he had, and i found food in there from 10 years ago. Ha! That's how much my dad cooks..... not. So, i think he's happy with having hot food at home now.

Brandon got the trailer unpacked, and my dad is letting us use his driveway. That is a huge relief, as i didn't want to leave it in a storage lot somewhere, with all of our stuff in it. That would have been scary.

Also, my dad is letting us stay here for 3 months (or more, depending on how we feel at that time), so we can save up for a down payment on a house. Brandon and I desperately want to buy another home, as we are soo tired of renting. I know we save up plenty of money for a down payment, if we are staying here. It will be fantastic.

This week has gone by too quickly. I was really happy to spend time with Brandon and the kids, and just relax.... mostly relax anyway. I finished the 4th book in the Dark Tower series: Wizard and Glass. It was really good... and now i'm onto the next one. I think i'll have plenty of time to read, now that the kids and i will be home for who knows how long.

I'm hoping to find stuff to do with the kids, so that we are bored senseless. The kids got so many presents from "santa" (my dad), so they have plenty to do. I know they will be bored still, no matter what.

I just need to keep up on playing with them, so they can behave as well.

This morning we got up early, around 7:30. I made them breakfast, and then we cleaned up the living room and their room downstairs. It's finally starting to look like a bedroom. (hooray!). I'll try to organize our bedroom as well, because it's a super mess. But i don't want to take all of my time organizing, because i definitely need to pay attention to the kids so that we aren't all fighting.

So, things i plan to do with the kids.... play with their toys with them, read to them, play playdough, color, do watercolor painting, and do the modeling clay. I'm hoping to try and work on Kat's letters with her, as she really isn't interested in learning. But maybe if it's in playdoh form she will.... i also need to look up a recipe for making our own clay, so that we can make them into letters, and then paint them. I think that would be a great idea for us to do together. I am actually looking forward to spending time with the kids and playing with them.

Maybe we can all be happy together!!! :)

I guess that's about it for info.... Brandon started work today at Tool King. He will be working on the west side of Denver, which is a long drive from here. I know he isn't thrilled with the drive, but i am hoping that it won't be too much of a pain. I want to stay here as long as we can, so we can save up as much money as possible. At least this way, my dad will have some company. He's a pretty lonely guy, and i feel bad for him. :( I want him to be happy... he needs happiness in his life. I hope we can all help each other out here.

Sooo, that's life for us. I'm happy to be here. :)

Oh! and i went to the Arc on Saturday, and got a bunch of AMAZING deals! I bought a leather jacket for $7 (eddie bauer), and several pairs of pants for Tyler. I also got a peacoat, and 2 pairs of pants for myself. All of this cost $37. I was very happy with my purchase. I can't wait to go on other thrift store adventures. It will be so exciting.

yay, for the happy colorado life! We're finally home..... and it's wonderful.

life, colorado, happiness
