frustrated
I’m frustrated and irritated.
I finally managed to get a call back from a job that I applied for. Surprisingly enough they called the very next day. Anyways, it’s a contract position with a temp agency, and the position is temp to perm. It’s in a call center taking inbound calls, so it shouldn’t be too bad. I’ve done similar work before and I don’t mind phone work, as long as I’m not doing the calling. The only downside is that it’s not any where close to what we need to cover the bills. If I get the job (which at this point there’s no reason that I won’t) I’ll only be making what Jon makes at Home Depot, which is half of what we need me to make. We’ll end up being about $1200 short a month - not good. So at this point I’m going to go around the house and see what I can sell. I have tons of stuff that can go, but it’s the matter of finding someone to buy it. I still have my severance money coming at the end of the month, so we’ll be good for at least another month before we simply can’t pay the mortgage. I’ve been in contact with the mortgage company several times and have told them of the situation and unfortunately (according to their system) we don’t qualify for any assistance. They said to keep calling every week because new things are constantly coming in. Yeah, that’s great, more stress and things to worry about right now. blah. I’m really hoping that we don’t lose the house, but at this point it’s looking like a real possibility.
So because everything is up in the air right now with the mortgage and we’re not even sure we’ll be in the house in 4 months, we’ve halted work on the deck. Thankfully I haven’t done much except take the stairs out. So Dad’s going to come by at some point and put some temporary stairs up, so that we can at least use the back door. Then once we get everything sorted, we’ll either finish the deck or completely scrap it.
I swear I think some one is out to get me. Every time things start looking up, I get smacked back down again. It’s so frustrating!
I’m wondering if filing for bankruptcy might be a viable option now. Hmm. I’ll have to look in to it.
