When I act, it tends to be rather dramatic.  Sometimes this is a good thing, but sometimes it isn't.  It can help me break a bad habit (*cough*Gautam*cough*), and it can help me do what I need to do.  Sometimes though I get all fired up and I shoot a machine gun when all I needed was a well-aimed shot from a .22 rifle.  I'm not sure this is ( Read more... )

As in, I copy edited for The Pitt News but didn't make copy chief.  I got a writing internship but it was crappy, not prestigious and I didn't get any clips from it.  I wrote for TPN but didn't make section editor, because I quit when maybe I shouldn't have, and took a year off when I could have been writing.  I won a fellowship but not a ( Read more... )

I am in love with potential, but not its actualization. Potential is exciting, promising, thrilling, invigorating. More often than not fulfilling potential is anti-climactic.  Most things don't reach their full potential. I've found answers to the easy questions.  Now I need to work on the hard ones.  But I think it will be a fun journey, even if there's a little bit of the normal adjustment/growing pains.
