UP! (1976) ***
This was Russ Meyer’s next to last film. It’s filled with all the director’s trademarks: Big boobs, lots of sex, surprising violence and rapid fire editing. The plot is simultaneously paper thin and overly complex, so I won’t even bother going into detail. You should just know that Raven de la Croix has lots of sex outdoors after killing the man who raped her. There’s also an axe impaling, a giant strap on dildo and an excellent death by chainsaw. Kitten Navidad also appears as “The Greek Chorus” to try to pull together the various plot threads, but it’s really just an excuse for Meyer (who also cameos) to show some more tits. Roger Ebert (who also wrote Meyer’s Beyond the Valley of the Dolls) co-wrote the story using a pseudonym. Audience Litmus Test: Does your kind of movie involve Adolph Hitler being fucked up the ass?
