Louis Armstrong never fails to make me extremely happy.
Been going through a little punk rock phase lately with Offspring and Green day.
I've been also listening to the new Weezer cd again lately just to challenge my very distasteful first impression. It has moments but I am thoroughly sick of it after hearing the album three times.
I have to get my hands on some Beethoven Sonatas, I need to learn one of them...
Its so overwhelming to think about how much music these classical composers created in their lifetime. What amazing people... INSPIRATION BABY!!
Just got this really great music composition software called finale, and can't wait to get a Midi so I can just plug in and play things right to paper.
Can't wait for that Zen Creative to come in. I have to get all that shit onto it, which hopefully wont take long.
I don't care what Russell says, Jerry Devivo's voice is beautiful.
I really really want some more Dave Brubeck and Herbie Hancock.
I really really want to see Bela Fleck again live.
Country has got to be the most loved and hated genre around, why is that?
Classical has got to be the most impartial feelings genre around, why?
Ever since I found out that Love Dreams in AbM is Liszt and not Schumann, I've fallen in love with Liszt. The way he changes the chords in the melody is just beautiful. How does he do it? I MUST know!
Rhapsody in Blue is great! I think I need more time with classical before I jump into Gershwin. He is really a big connector between classical and modern music.
I know nothing about the history of music in terms of dates and eras. Is this even important? I suppose, to know who came before who. And how it has progressed.
Thanks, Kibble, for writing "Shitty Music" on my music folder. I appreciate the gesture. But you must appreciate that you CAN EAT ME.
My Summer Mix for this year (that I havn't been able to burn to a cd all summer, and it is frustrating!):
A Summer Song - Chad & Jeremy
Summer Teeth - Wilco
Surf Wax USA - Weezer
May Lou - Steve Miller Band
F.N.T - Semisonic
Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around - Steve Miller Band
Summer Romance - Incubus
Here Comes Your Man - Pixies
Twist - Phish
D'yer Maker- Led Zeppelin
Are You In? - Incubus
Sink Beneath the Line - Incubus
American Idiot - Green Day
It's Oh So Quiet - Bjork
Horse Pills - The Dandy Warhols
Pool Party - Aquabats
Yeah! - Zwan
Everybody's Free (to wear Sunscreen) - Baz Luhrman
Although I hate tampering with the way musicians intended an album to be heard, I miss mixes. Shuffle is still the devil.
