December kind of flew by around here, bringing a lot of joy and destruction in its Decembery path. Most of the time, when Ben gets hurt, he can dust himself off and keep going, especially if we're outside playing. Occasionaly, he needs a kiss from his mama, and then he's off and running again. Rarely, he starts crying and I have to hold him in my arms for awhile, shhing him and kissing his head and rocking him gently to get him to settle down. ( Read more... )

We are all happy. Stephen has said it's like being on vacation. A simplified life. Not a lot of stuff and clutter. Not a lot of chores bogging us down. We swim. We eat whole foods. When I was 13, I got the deal of a lifetime when my uncle decided out of the blue that he wanted to take me to Hawaii. This was before he was married or had any kids.
