The shock of coming down the stairs and finding himself standing in a foot of water had quickly melted from numb disbelief to brief panic to grim determination. After firing off a quick report to the crew on his findings he slipped his journal back into his pack and set out to find the source of the problem.

The most bizarre thing was how quickly and quietly it had all happened. He and Souji had scoured the ship before leaving Berum and they hadn't found anything wrong with the pipes. No strange noises, no leaks, not even rust on the pipes that might hint at oncoming fractures in the metal. It was already so high, but if something catastrophic had happened it should have been loud. An explosion might explain this much water, but there hadn't been any warning until the ship started slowing down.

Something was not right, but he would worry about that later. For now he had to find where all this water was coming from.

[OOC: Heihachi is hunting for leaks, and would be more than happy for help as he a) is short and b) can't swim.]

Water. All over the damn place. But Ikki had a job to do! Yup, he was riding his Air Trecks down the hallway at the moment, but stopped when he noticed all the water. So, he just yelled. "YO! Anyone down here better get your ass to the deck, we're flooding like hell!"

Hmm, that wasn't as good as he could do, he knew that. He looked at water rising up near his feet, scratching his head for a moment. Then a little light bulb went off in his head. "I got it!" With a little grin on his face Ikki rubbed his hands together. Taking in a deep breath he pointed his hands at the water. From the negative space created by pressing his hands together Ikki was able to push the water with a blast of air aimed right at the water. A good deal of the water sprayed up and down the hall, giving Ikki the chance to let out someone who was stuck in a door that wouldn't open because of the water.

Oh yeah, Ikki was real proud of himself, saving someone like that. Hopefully no one was in the way of the water he pushed thought.

Heihachi was slogging forward through the belly of the ship, wondering how the water could be up to his knees already when he heard the distant sound of someone's voice calling down the corridor. Despite the urgency of his mission, he paused, trying to figure out who it was and where it was coming from. The water was distorting any sound, and his hearing was still unconsciously tuned to the distant sound of splashing water, though now he could hear something much louder and much closer…

He was entirely unprepared when a flood of water suddenly gushed from one of the branching paths ahead of him, and though the wave was barely waist high it still knocked him off his feet. With a surprised yelp he skidded back a few feet, landing hard on his knees, but more dazed than really harmed. What was that all about?

[OOC:..She? XD Heihachi's cross-dressing shenanigans have clearly gone too far!]

A yelp? Did the bird brain hear a yelp? He thought he did. And so he waded through the water calling out, "Hey, someone need help down here?" as he did. When he made it to a branch he took a guess at where the noise had come from and started down it.

A quick thought of the time he had been gone gave him somewhere between 6 and 7 minutes before Gorobei would be pissed and come looking for him. So that meant he had better hurry. And what a better way to hurry than with his AT's.

So he grabbed on the nearest pipe from the ceiling, shook his feet free from water, then kicked down on the wall. From then on it was an easy game of keeping his balance(what with a little magic help from his Air Trecks) until he noticed a figure in the middle of the hall. Jumping back into the water with a splash, he wondered who it was.

"Hey, you alright?" he asked, scratching his head. He couldn't think of the guy's name.

[ Ahaha, sorry 'bout that. Got too enthralled reading the cross-dressing thread I guess! ]

Gorobei maintained his usual relaxed composure as he sat on the main deck of the ship. He had his journal out, and he was making a list of those whose locations had been reported. He had been in high-stress situations before, and he had carried each one out without flaw (or at least, hardly noticeable flaws).

He was a little worried about Heihachi and Kambei, but he also understood that they knew what they were doing. It was most of the rest of the crew that had him concerned. Especially Ikki, who he had given a responsibility and was now a bit worried that the boy might become side-tracked and forget to report back. The boy had eight more minutes until Gorobei had to go looking for him. He hoped it wouldn't come down to that.

[[OOC: This is just a thread for those of you who need to report in. If you can be of assistance, let Gorobei know and he might find a job for you. Otherwise, it's assumed that you're just up on deck waiting for things to blow over. You're welcome to chat it up with Gorobei, though I doubt he'll be as ( ... )

Lavi didn't know quite what he was supposed to be doing, right now. He rather wished he was a mechanic or a navigator or something else that was actually directly useful. He shouldn't just be standing around here like an idiot.
"...Gorobei?" he said, coming up behind the older man. "Anything I can do to help?" Hell, if Ikki could help, surely he could?

Gorobei spun around at the sound of Lavi's voice. He knew that Lavi was more responsible that quite a few of the other crew members running around below the ship deck, but he was sure he didn't want to send anyone else down there unless the situation became more dire. "If Ikki doesn't get back here in a few minutes, I'm going to have to go look for him. If you wouldn't mind taking over my post and checking everyone in at that time, that'd be helpful."

The boy looked like he really wanted to help, though, so Gorobei added an addendum. "If Ikki does return in time, he'll stay here and I'll send you to the other side of the ship to check the rooms. I just don't want to risk having two men I'm responsible for getting in trouble at the same time. You understand, yeah?"

"Sure, can do," Lavi said, grateful for any sort of task, to be honest.

He nodded at Gorobei's addition; yes, he understood. It wouldn't make any sense to send everyone in to help, and end up having to rescue them.
He wasn't optimistic about the chances of Ikki coming back in time, though. The idiot was...well, an idiot, even when he hadn't been drinking. Chances were he'd forget he had a time limit altogether.
He refrained from sharing this rather uncharitable observation with Gorobei, though, and stayed silent, chewing his lip as he looked over towards the door leading to the interior of the ship.

Souji rather hoped his journal could be dried out later, and that Hijikata wouldn't do anything too drastic at the abrupt end of their conversation. He'd found something fairly waterproof to stash the device in, and was back to searching for whatever had gone wrong. There shouldn't have been so much water--it was nearing his waist now--and he couldn't understand what had gone wrong. Everything had looked fine when they'd left, the pipes had been sound...

It must have been something they couldn't see... or something that had appeared fine... maybe one of the dials had been jambed and giving a wrong reading? It didn't really matter now... with the amount of water sloshing around in the bottom of the ship instead of running through the engine, he knew the likelihood of the ship staying in the air was very slim. With any luck, they'd at least make it a safe crash landing.

The water was still rising, and he still hadn't found the leak. It was almost enough to make a mild-mannered mechanic curse. Almost.

Her books, pictures, and booze were safely stashed in her room, the journal with her in a pocket she'd lined with oil-cloth against a situation something like this, so that she could keep atop of the situation even while down here.

Let's see, food, booze...no wait...some gunpowder, the rest can dry out, maps Anko ran through the impromptu list she'd put together in her head of things to save--unless someone directed her otherwise.

And people of course, if she came across anyone in need of rescuing.

There would be time to worry about possibly crashing and dying later...if there was a later.

Reno, too, had saved everything important (his booze, the EMR, food, even that stupid shirt Axel'd given him), but there were two problems.

He couldn't swim. And he had to find Axel. He really didn't want to know what happened when you got a fire mage with poor control wet.

So he was standing near the storerooms, a more than a little freaked out.

Rushing down to the storage room after taking care of the leaking pipes a few halls away, the only worry the samurai now had was for the supplies. If they are going to crash land this ship in the middle of nowhere, they better take as much supplies as they can possibly carry! Unlike everyone else who were more focused in saving the booze and food, Kambei decided he will be the one to save the medicine and first aid kits they had scattered about. He was sure judging by the frequent hot steam pouring out from some of the pipes now, that many of the crew men would be suffering from second degree burns and such.

That is if they only had mere burns to worry about.

"Is there anyone down here!?" Kambei shouted over the chaotic roar of the failing engines and panicked cries above. "Reno!" He yelled over toward the red-head, noticing the fearful gaze within the pilot's eyes. "SNAP OUT OF IT! If you are here to help, do so!"

"I've already saved shit!" called the red head. "I'm looking for Axel!"

For once, Reno was too freaked out to be sarcastic.

Damn, how had this happened? Winry wanted to ponder at the question and solve it, but now wasn't the time to go off and do such. She knew that Heihachi, Souji, and a couple people they had recruited had already gone down to try and fix the problem. Between the two of them Winry was sure they'd figure out something--right now what her next concern was, was their food and other supplies. She wasn't sure exactly what would go on from here but without the basic necessities it would be hard for them either way and so right now she had been running back and forth through the water, which was just above her knees.

Not good, not good. She had managed to haul a couple boxes up, and with her boots she was pretty quick about it, but she was starting to tire out. Winry was stronger than she looked, thanks to her profession, but still not one meant to be doing such heavy duty work. She had only managed to get a couple ones that hadn't been spoiled, unfortunately it was so hard to find ones that the water hadn't entirely tainted.

After getting Winry's call-out for help, Beat had made his way as fast as possible to the storage rooms.

That new board Rikku had given him came in real handy, even if his reflexes were thrown off from the beer in his system.

He slipped into the storage room, kciking up a small wave of water as he came to a stop, hopping off the board and looking around. The water was getting high enough that his airboard couldn't support his weight for much longer, it's engine wasn't strong enough.

"Win! Over here!" he waved her down, tottally forgetting that he still had the tiny red cat on his shoulder. Said cat didn't look too fazed by all the water, and was watching Winry intently.

Well shit. Why was he not surprised at the kind of luck this was. So much for a good party, right? Thankfully he hadn't gotten a chance to get drunk off the whiskey he'd gotten from Freya, and he was looking through the network for a job.

Rockbell looked like she needed the most help, two or three people weren't going to get all the food upstairs in time. Greed threw off his jacket and headed to the storage rooms.

Getting knee deep in the water told him they were shorter on time than he'd hoped. He waved down the first-mate and the kid who was already there.

This was one of those few times that Winry did feel bothered by her height. By this point the water had risen to her thighs which was making it incredibly hard to maneuver. That added to the fact that she was getting really tired from hauling boxes up to the deck, and the steam and heat of the water making her slightly dizzy...

Winry closed her eyes and shook her head to clear it when she heard a voice. She looked up to see Beat and Greed not to far behind, seeing them renewed her energy and she managed to pull the box she currently had in her hands over to them, careful to not let it touch the water anymore than she already had.

"Thanks for coming, guys" she said, her face a little flushed. Good. They probably wouldn't manage to get it all saved, but three hands are work were better than one.
