More vampire stuff

Those of you Swedes who have read Låt den rätte komma in by John Ajvide Lindqvist (and anyone else, of course -- it's translated into English after all, as Let the Right One In), what do you think about the book? And have you seen the new feature film, and is it any good?

I haven't read the book, since I have a bit of a problem with horror stories, but I know it has had some very good reviews, and now that the film has arrived, I'm getting curious, if only because it's not very often something interesting comes along that's written and made in my own language, especially if it's fantastic/supernatural.

The problem I have with horror is that I don't like to be frightened. :) In this respect, grossness and violence isn't the worst part; it's the psychological tension, evil and IMPENDING BAD STUFF and things like that. Powerlessness, cruelty, inevitable doom. I don't mind purely supernatural stuff like Buffy or Lord of the Rings, even if they have horror elements, becuase they aren't really that scary. (To illustrate: I've seen Aliens, but never managed to get through more than ten minutes of Alien, even though there isn't much action going on during those first ten minutes.)

It may seem strange that I love fantasy/sci-fi and not horror, but we can't all be rational. :)
