So much for waking up early... I think we had agreed to be ready, but of course me and my love for sleeping, I was sound asleep when Felix and ash came to get me. It was supposed to be another scorcher with the temperature hitting 40s so it didn’t take long to get ready. We decided to head out and explore the town. Haha what a day it turned out to be. We walked around for 6 hours together where we managed to take 3 tuk tuks, stumble upon china town, have an ice fight, see various temples, eat ice cream, chow down some random street food and then arrive exhausted, tired, and completely finished, at the world famous Khou San Road. I don’t care who you are and where you’re from (thanks spice girls) but you absolutely have to reach this place. In the rest of the city we definitely stood out as tourists, here we were amongst our people, haha. I am so glad I had my camera because one has to capture the random images on the street to believe this place. The hoards of people, the smells coming from carts in every direction, the sights of clothes and shoes and everything you don’t need but want to buy, coming at you from every direction. And the energy, you can’t help but get sucked into the excitement of all the people from all over the world who have embarked into this incredible country in hopes of taking away something from it.

Well my something was a little bit more tangible, and after window shopping to my heart’s content I bought a few amazing t-shirts for Nate (I smell a birthday present), a cute dj tank top, and a dress that Felix picked out for me. I don’t know why but I can’t help but smile at a guy who has the patience to shop clothes with me, not just shop but go out of his way to find something that would look incredible, we argued for almost 15 minutes about who would pay for it, but I couldn’t let him do that. I bought the dress, it is delicious!

After that we wandered around and eventually found the other side of the street which seemed a lot more calm but had enough chaos to satisfy us. We went to a restaurant to get some food while we tried to figure out what to do for the rest of the evening. We couldn’t help but notice that the prices were about 4 times what we had paid everywhere else. Regardless we were hungry, so we ordered some spring rolls and drinks. I think the real mistake that we made was sitting at a table right beside the road, mostly because I wanted to people watch. Within seconds we were approached by the first seller of random trinkets, which led to the next few hours of us being approached every 15 seconds, give or take. Felix went off for a phone call or to meet someone, we’re not sure. We waited for him and when he came back we were exhausted and ready to go back, shower and chill out. We tried for awhile to get a servers attention but no one was interested in taking our money, so finally we just left. My first dine and dash, god I’m such a rebel. We quickly jumped into a tuk tuk and headed back to our place. Our driver was a young Thai guy who referred to himself as sky. He was fun, talkative, and ready to party and willing to get us anything we needed. Anything. Well Felix decided the night would be more interesting if he could get something to smoke, so a detour was made. I have to say that the place we stopped was definitely scary, random ally, dark night, a bunch of Thai tattooed up men, I was more than afraid. Once the money was taken and discussions were had we had to sit and wait for the ‘guy’ to come with the ‘stuff.’ I cannot even begin to tell you how uncomfortable I was getting by the second. It felt like a scene in a movie right before the two girls are kidnapped and sold to the prostitution ring. I’m pretty sure ash could hear my thoughts because she wanted to leave as well. After awhile it was decided by the group that it wasn’t safe for us to be there, but then it was also not safe for Felix to have all his money and personal belongings there. We took his stuff, said bye and the tuk tuk driver took us back to our hostel. We made him sweat up and down and left and right that he would go back to Felix and he promised us he would.  I seriously thought I would never see him again.

After an hour he finally came back and we let out the breath we had been holding in for so long. Ok so we had officially completed our first drug mission, party time? There were 2 new guys in my room I invited them out with us. Felix had exchanged numbers with sky and called him up to take us to khou san road. After the experience we had just had, we definitely bonded with the driver. He dropped us off and offered to pick us up when we were done. Ash and I quickly went into the only bar promising hip hop and Felix went to look for his friends. We met two other guys inside and lost the ones we had come with, we drank some, danced some, and then around 3 am decided to call it a night.
