The Ender's Game debate (aka late to the party movie ramblings)

Dec 20, 2013 21:20

I know I’m WAY behind on this controversy, but I just got some free time and I needed to get this off my chest:
I really wish that all the self-righteous social justice warriors who demanded a boycott of the movie Ender’s Game because of Orson Scott Card’s anti-gay statements had done the same for the movie Blue Jasmine.

For those who don’t know, Blue Jasmine is a film that came out around the same time as Ender’s Game. And it was made by a man who supports adopting Asian children from impoverished countries and grooming them to become comfort women for disgusting old men (and he did this himself with HIS OWN STEP-DAUGHTER!!!!).

So, yeah, anyone who raged against Card (a man who only SAID awful things) and the movie based on his work without also calling for a boycott of the movie made by Woody Allen (a man who RAPED A CHILD while pretending to be a father to her) doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously.

BTW, I put this on tumblr just to see if anyone would actually reblog it and explain why an old man ranting about gays is worse than an elderly creep raping his own step-daughter.

fandom, movie, geekery, feminism, gay rights
