Story

Someone please explain to me what the controversy is. It's not like the Robertsons have ever been shy about their beliefs. I think Phil could have been a little more measured in his comments, but honestly, what do you expect when you ask a very conservative Christian man how he feels about homosexuality? You want him to admit he gets The Advocate delivered to his home and donates to GLAD? This is like asking Osama bin Laden how he felt about 9/11 and then getting mad when he responds with "Allahu Akbar!".
I'm quite certain GQ had an agenda going into this: They wanted to get an inflammatory quote out of Phil Robertson and use it to make him and his family look like gay-hating religious nuts. But Duck Dynasty is A&E's most popular show and they need Phil a whole lot more than Phil needs them. The Duck Dynasty fanbase won't take this lying down and A&E will either have to cave and bring him back or forfeit the revenue from Duck Dynasty and deal with its very angry fans.
