I had the day off today, and so I went once again to the Danbury mall with my sister as she attempted to make the Apple store fix her computer. She had an appointment for 10 am, so we left bright and early, but once we got there, they told us that the guy who fixes computers doesn't actually come in until noon, and would be done with her computer between then and two, three at the latest. And since we'd already established that there is next to nothing at the Danbury mall these days, we decided to go out and do something else while we waited, since just going home and back there again would be too much driving (especially since I was the one driving).
I hadn't seen the new Star Trek movie yet, so we decided to find a theater nearby and see if we could catch a showing. This turned out to be harder than I thought, since the wireless internet in the mall wasn't working very well. So after a few failed attempts to find out movie times on the Apple store's computers and my ipod touch, we decided to just use my GPS to find a theater and find out the times when we got there. The first theater we tried turned out to be tiny, but it was show Star Trek after 12. So we decided to try the next one on the list, which was a Loews (and turned out to be in the same plaza as a Lowe's, how weird is that?), and their earliest showing was 11:45. Since it was almost 11 by then, we killed some time in Best Buy and then saw the movie (it was awesome).
By the time the movie was over, the Apple store hadn't called my sister about her computer, so we just drove back to the mall and asked about it. Turns out the part they had ordered for it didn't do the trick, so they were going to order another part, and this time she left the computer with them so we don't have to drive down there again until it's fixed.
Now, by this time it was almost quarter of three, and I had an appointment to look at an apartment at four. Mom was going to come with me, so Beck called her while we were driving home, and she recommended that we just drive straight there and look at it just the two of us. That got us there about a half hour early, so we browsed around a nearby Target until the time, and then went to check out the apartment (which was nice).
After that, we finally got to go home and stay in for the rest of the night. But it was a fun day out, even so. Gave my GPS a good workout, that's for sure.
