BEST CROSSOVER OF ALL TIME

Jul 19, 2011 00:50

I have always hated the Murdoch empire, but now there's epic corruption scandal news breaking daily, and the corruption has made so many other people embrace the hate, I have to say, News Corp (especially their UK devision, News International) has pretty much developed an anti-fandom. Which I consider myself a gleeful part of.

You also may know that I posted not that long ago about my favourite RPF fandom that never was.

Today, LulzSec hacked News International.

They apparently have a bunch of internal emails from The Sun newspaper and are set to release them soonish.

They had The Sun's website redirecting to a fake news story about Rupert Murdoch having died, and then redirecting on to the LulzSec twitter feed, and now it seems that News International has shut down ALL OF ITS SERVERS. Rupert Murdoch's UK branch currently has NO ONLINE PRESENCE.

MY FAVOURITE ANTI-FANDOM AND MY FAVOURITE NON-FANDOM CAN HAS CANON CROSSOVERS.

I have heart eyes forever, you guys. HEART EYES FOREVER.

As some dude on twitter so aptly described things:

@tomscott: http://thesun.co.uk now redirects to @LulzSec. The plot threads of the last two months collide. Next week: the thrilling season finale!

lulz, epic win, when fandoms collide, squee, how have i not already seen this?, omgomgomg, being over invested is awesome, politics, politics is a fandom now
