the squatters: part un

May 18, 2007 11:37

classes ended and everyone went home.

except for me and kamilla.

during finals week, we got no sleep and smoked sheesha on the lawn every spare second.
by thursday we had convinced ourselves:this was going to be THAT summmer.
by friday kamilla had quit her job as a student guard.

the same day we stole a grocery cart and went around to all the dorms, collecting things people were throwing out of the during dorm move-out.
you have to understand that:
1. this is georgetown, so rifling through your neighbor's trash is the social suicide
2. this is georgetown, so people throw away a lot of nice stuff.

we built up a reserve of stuff we could sell on e-bay,(coach purse, new appliances, books, whatever)
and stuff we could eat (nutella, instant oatmeal, a lot of microwave popcorn) and holed up in one of the empty dorms.

we're been living here five days. we sold most of our own stuff over craig's list and started dating for food (http://www.georgetownvoice.com/2007-04-19/voices/attention-men-will-date-for-food)

once we get $1000 we're going to barcelona.
right now we're at $248.

check back to find out what happens.
