Way behind...
I have been negligent in my livejournal reading and posting. It seems like a great many days since I have been here, reading your journals, keeping up with what is happening in people's lives, replying and basically keeping the channels of communication open. One reason there's nothing new on my Last.fm list is that I've been listening to a lot of the page-embedded music at Myspace. The sound card on my laptop is wonky, and I have to hold the computer at a specific happy angle in order to listen to music or watch video. Can't really afford to be without this thing long enough to have it fixed.
nacowafer turned me onto the Shins when she gave me their latest (?) in 2003. I don't remember which it was. Could be the one you have.
Do you have a lot of cassette tapes? We unpacked most of ours, and there they sit gathering dust and taking up bookshelf space. G has this goal of replacing all the tapes with mp3s. I think I'm junking most of mine, except for the nostalgic tapings of friends' radio shows and mix tapes that were gifts. I remember when we first began corresponding that making a mix CD seemed like such a luxurious, complicated undertaking. Then one of my 6-degrees friends introduced me to Napster. Whee! ...I recovered some of my writing from my parents' house last week, and found the huuuge binder where I'd printed out most of the creative writing we did on 6-D. Can you believe it's coming up on 8 years since we met?
