[ there's a new arrival on the station, someone who despite sporting a pair of very familiar blue eyes and sandy-blonde hair, albeit a bit darker, doesn't look too pleased to be there. in fact, he looks livid and wants answers. now. ]

Someone had better have a damn good reason for doing this.

[ a new arrival of course alerts shtel nor. after all there needs to be an up to date database. therefore at the nearest terminal the hologram begins to form. ]

[ and he whips out a phaser--don't ask where he got it from. he's a kirk. he's got connections, yo ]

Who or what the fuck are you?

I am Shtel Nor's database and systems. Designated as "Holly." You do not need to use force of arms as I am merely a hologram.

[ yeah, not lowering the phaser ]

Well, whatever the hell you are, Holly Doll, you're gonna tell me where I am and how I got here now.

[ kirk had thought there was nothing the station could throw at him that surprised him now. until he saw him. of course kirk recognized him instantly. it'd been a damn long time, but... ]

[samkirk]

[ now that's a voice he knows and he whirls around to-- ]

Who the hell did you have to kick the crap out of to get your hands on captain's uniform, Jim?

[canyonsiniowa]

[ he didn't even bother rolling his eyes. instead he cocked his head and raised his eyebrows. ]

I earned it. You know, joining Starfleet, the works.

[samkirk]

[ have an eye roll and one of those "yeah right" looks ]

They don't promote cadets straight to captain, Jim. I'm not in Starfleet and even I know that.

[widowing]

[ she really hated it when she ran into a new arrival. she wasn't good at breaking news, especially to upset people, which she could tell this guy was, even from behind. ]

No good reason. No reason at all, far as we can tell.

[samkirk]

[ not pleased to hear that voice. not pleased at all. he turns around and offers up a bored sort "let's get this over with" half-hearted glare ]

What, this your new idea of a visit? Here's a hint, Mom: Send a communication first. Always helps.

[ well that was a bit of a slap in the face, along with the fact that it was sam, no mistaking. she'd expected something like this would happen but that hadn't prepared her for it at all. not the sick twist of her stomach or the way her mouth fell open. ]

[ it took a long moment and one deep breath for her to even start composing herself. ]

No, it's not like that. This is a Cardassian space station. It pulls people here, usually affiliated with Starfleet and... How old are you?

[samkirk]

Not surprised. Typical.

[ he mumbles as he shakes his head and laughs a bit bitterly ]

Twenty-eight. Forget our birthdays, too?

[spurring]

[ having located a wheelchair, she was just going through the empty hallways, exploring at a speed that wasn't 100% safe. luckily her eyes were ahead of her and she managed to come to a fairly smooth stop in front of him. she was panting a little, and smiling. welcome to the crazyhouse. ]

Reason? Probably not. Haven't found one yet, anyway, but I'm new. [ she extended a hand. ] Welcome to Shtel Nor.

[ and...crap. he's bad at this. don't look at the chair, don't look at the chair, don't look at her chest, don't look at the chair ]

Shtel Nor? Sounds Swedish.

[ shakes her hand ]

[spurring]

Lorna Forge.

[ she withdrew her hand and used both to scoot herself up in the chair and sit straighter. it was still better than crutches. ]

It's Cardassian, actually! But that's about all I know. I haven't been able to figure out much stuck in this thing. Goes pretty fast though. Hey, you're not a doctor, are you?

[samkirk]

Oh, fun. Alien species I'm not familiar with. Always a joy.

[ sarcasm. he loves it ]

No, not a doctor, Lorna. Just a mechanic. One of those wheels break and I'll happily fix it.

[ grin! ]

If anyone can figure out who or why, I'm sure they'll let us all know.

[She's not standing too far away, and is in fact standing in front of one of the consoles, studying a map of the base. It's...huge.]

[ he happily walks over there. hellooooo nurse lieutenant ]

They can take their time.

[She glances at the new arrival over her shoulder and gives him a wry smile.]

They're doing that. At least you arrived at a time when an Ion storm wasn't making half the people insane.

When aren't people insane? Everyone's got a bit of crazy in them. It's all a matter of whether or not it gets let out.
