"NO! Rafiki lives in the TREE OF LIFE"
Random vacation was successful, we had a blast. Pictures are here. We decided to end it a day early because we all need to do other things on Sunday other than travel in a car for 8 hours. Here's a breakdown of the activities:
Day 1: Roadtrip to Orlando...We stopped three times, ate at each stop, then had dinner when we got there...cause we're fatties like that
Day 2: Magic Kingdom! (NOTE: Disney actually does allow outside food and drinks! They check your backs for guns only.)
Day 3: Animal Kingdom, plus 1/2 of Epcot
Day 4: MGM Studies, plus drinking 'round the world at Epcot
Day 5: Leisurely drive back to Mobile
Yesterday I had to give a presentation on the research I've been doing with hurricane evacuation stuff. The conference was hosted by some fancy software company and you got a nice little tote bag and other assorted goodies for attending (including a polo shirt). Anyway, everything went smoothly, was done by noon so I could get over to the office and get some hours in.
Also saw Angels and Demons yesterday, it was pretty sweet. They change lots of stuff from the book (but when don't they?). I really only disagree with the way they handled the ending...they never even revealed one of the most shocking things in the book... Still, I suppose if I hadn't read the book, I would have still enjoyed it. Basically, it's a National Treasure-esque movie, only with Tom Hanks instead of Nicholas Cage.
A lot of CE students plan on going tubing down the Bouge Chitto river this Saturday, and I am definitely looking forward to more relaxing, company, and beer.
