What else could this be subjected to but The New Year?
1/1/06 - I drove a friend home to Greenville after a long day of
recovering from the New Years Eve festivities and some job searching.
Ended up having to go back and pick him up after I had gotten about a
1/4 of the way home with hardly any gas because his now former roommate
is
a complete ass and I'm not going to go into it. We ended up running out
of gas at about the exact same point I turned around to go back and get
him. I called my mother and she headed out to meet us with some gas. We
walked up and down 14 Mile in the rain watching for my mother because
there were no descriptive landmarks anywhere near us to tell her
exactly where we were. About an hour after we had run out of gas, we
watched as she passed us completely unaware that we were standing there on the side of the
road. The cellphone wasn't getting reception, so even if the pay phone
she tried to use had taken her change it wouldn't have mattered. An
hour and a half later, she finally finds us. We put the gas in the car(a
whole half tank, nice!). She decides she wants to follow me home to make sure
I get there alright. As if I'm going to run out of gas again or blow a
tire or whatever. I come to a stop for a yellow light in the right turn
lane at the corner or Northland and West River Drive. My mother thinks
I'm going to go through it because she is completely positive that I'm
a horrible and dangerous driver who takes every risk I can. She rear-ends me. No damage done to my
car but her right headlight is crushed. We continue home and just go to
bed because that was quite enough for one day.
What an amazing beginning to this year. I don't think I need to see the rest of it. I've got the gist.
Present Day - Things are looking up. I got a job earlier today(1/3/06) at Cannonsburg. I'm going to get paid $6 an hour to help people on and off the lifts and go inside every half hour to warm up. My friend had applied for a job there and he needed to see if he got it and I went with and filled out an app just for the hell of it. We went to find "the guy" and ask him about my friends app and to give him mine. Right then and there he told us to come in on Fri, Sat, and Sun. Then he said that if we decided we liked the job to let him know and we would be put on next weeks schedule as well.
After we left there with our feelings of accomplishment we went and got some free food from Quiznos with gift certificates he had gotten for Christmas(I think). I had never had Quiznos before and it was delicious.
I'm satisfied with all of this that didn't happen on the 1st
And that's all I care to write about now.
