"but though mankind persuades
itself that every weed's
a rose,roses(you feel
certain)will only smile"
at one point, on the way home, the smell of captain D's beside, as it was only sprinkling on the windshield, for the moment, a sheet of greyer was ahead, the steady rain was seen absolute, a certain line that i was driving towards. i took a left, not running but in route, to sit in front of the idiot box while all heaven broke loose in slapping torrents upon the window, upon the cracking paint, the peeling sidewalk, upon everything. with john, driving only because he insisted, we went into this, and found floods at every stoplight, sudden rivers in the park, an ocean of a parking lot, and the general panic of a world to stupid to deal even with sunlight. we made it to his grandma's alive. she was tiny old woman, filled with aged piss and vinegar, probably had a radically refreshing attitude in her time.
(sorry i didn't come to the party... or was it rained out? jeff showed up eventually... poker and discussions of whether sixpackadelia is on the road to euthanasia... beer of course... they wanted details of why and what with her... i spilled, she was right, there was no magic, so there is no sadness... no fault, no blame, no feeling, no dealing... i hope when i see her around she does not forget that i promised to slap her ass to break the ice... yes it's back to being me... forgetting to shave... mumbling... drinking and forgetfulness... bring out the dead lady of my peace... paint her skin back on... sit her in the passenger seat... and let me drive in the carpool lane.)
just to give you a view:
the other night, when i was explaining why i didn't want to see the next card, i said, "ignorance is bliss." leia laughed and said, "chad that's a good one, you should write it down." HAVING NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE. she must be a very happy person indeed.
