How well can I sell myself?
So tonight was pretty cool, definitely something I havent done before: I was auctioned off as a date for charity :P I got dressed up all pretty and sexy like for the event. There were about 11 or 12 guys and 15-20 girls up for bids. I was taken at $20 after my interests, clubs, and dream date were read off. While standing up there I showed a sign I had made from some of my own and some of jerrod's ideas to help me get more $$ The sign had an arrow pointing up and said 'Corey Matthews, Where's my Topanaga??' hehehe...on the back it said 'I love to go pearl diving' OOO YEAAAAA!! It fit well with my dream date cuz I said a tropical island with fun in the sun, smores by fireside, and a night of dancing :D
$20 was pretty good (mostly cuz my acquaintance kelly felt sorry for me at $15) compared to the rest of the guys up there. 3 were sold at $5 a piece, and one to a guy LOL. The best, however, was when a guy was sold for $25 to another guy LMAO!!! The majority were around 20 or 25, with the peak being 50 I believe. Pretty good considering I'm a freshman no one really knows about! As far as the ladies went, the highest single was about 50, the highest pair (yes you could go up in groups of up to 4) for 150 (very very attractive ladies), and the highest was a triple of Pi Phi's for one hundred and seventy-five dollars...WOAH. It was dominated by greek life participants, which seems to be the case in anything driking or sexual around campus lol.
Maybe I'll do it again soon when I get to know more people here, just for kicks. The danger for the single ladies is that there were some creepy single guys with cameras bidding fearlessly lol. One of them won my friend Maureen and she was like EWWWWW!!! I told her to tell the guy (if he ever gets in contact with her) that she did it as a dare and she already has a boyfriend :P
Aside from that, life is fucking INSANE with work. I'm ok for this week, but next week starting Friday is gonna be hell til the following Tuesday. I had a calc test today that I absolutely crammed for 2 hours before the test for. Learning 3 weeks of material in about 5 hours total is pretty good. I'm guessing 65-75 on the test. Which is ok cuz all I need is a B in the class and it will be done as long as I dont massively screw up on the final (May 13th, long way away).
I typed up my Processes paper today, which only took about an hour for 3 pages. There is a 'final' test on Thursday that is supposed to be fairly difficult. But unless I turn it in blank I'll pass the class, which is the best I can do considering its a pass/fail class, no effect on GPA.
Classes for DCS have ended but we have one more project due next friday the 6th which is quite difficult. It will take some creativity and thought to make this an A project, but we all get A's in the class so I'm not worried.
IEA is hell that never seems to end. I got my retest back last week and ended up getting the same god damn grade as the original one (58). However, when I looked over it and went to challenge session to get more points back, I ended up with a 61 on the original and a 68 on the retake. MUCH better. My test average is about a 61 (60% of the total grade) and i have done about half of my hw (10% of the total grade). It all depends on how I do on the final (30% of the grade) on Monday the 9th. I just want to pass this class and get it over with...
Studio is the worst of em all, SO MUCH WORK due...*shakes head in frustration* We have a portfolio that covers the entire semester that has to be very well thought out, attractive, and unique due on Friday the 6th. Also, we have a peer (for the group project) and self evaluation due the same day. Our group project that were working on right now is going to be presented on Tuesday the 10th infront of a fairly big audience, ~20 people not in the class. Currently, were not even close to finishing the paper holder, the board, or knowing what were gonna say :/ It's gonna be crazy til thats done.
Annnnd last but not least, nominations and elections for fraternity officers are on Sunday. I've been nominated for secretary, fall rush chair, and pledgemaster. I will run for secretary, ass't social, and historian. I gotta make a speech for the secretary position, but I'm sure I can get it.
WOOOW that is long ass entry, if you read it all you deserve a cookie. Go talk to the pillsbury doughboy and tell him i sent you, he'll understand :D
