After work on Christmas Eve, I finished the side seams on my dad's vest by hand, and top-stitched the collar and armseyes. Today, I did the five functional buttonholes, and painted the 10 buttons with black nail polish (they were silver). So at this point, it just needs the back buckle and the buttons put on. The buttons are waiting till I have my dad try it out next week. As for the buckle, the pattern calls for a fancy two pronged buckle, but all I have is a standard one. So I'm going to do a little research, and hopefully find evidence that those were used back then. *fingers crossed*

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! My BF and I had all sports of plans - we were going to go to the mountains to find snow, but there wasn't any. So then we were going to go ice skating and see a movie. But unfortunately, he was sick today, and didn't feel better till after 3pm... So instead, we watched a bunch of movies, ate latkes and Chinese food, and I rediscovered how much I'm addicted to The Sims. (And luckily, we did wind up seeing Into the Woods on Christmas Eve.) Not a terrible Christmas, though a little bit of a let-down. I'm determined someday to finally have a white Christmas.
