It's finally here, nearly two years since the first campaigning started.

I already voted this morning. Got there 15 minutes after the polls opened at 6am, and there was already a long line.  It moved fast though, and we were home 45 minutes later.

The Dark Knight, I mean.

Seems like everyone in fandom has seen it, except me.  I went to the early matinee this morning, by myself.

I liked it a lot.  Can't say I loved it, although Christian Bale was yummy, as usual.  And Heath Ledger's Joker was as phenomenal as I've heard.   (Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart were great too.)

It's 'Super Tuesday'.   Which means...

I VOTED TODAY !!

For those outside the U.S., that means that my home state of Illinois --- along with 22 others across the nation --- held primary elections today to determine who will be the Democratic and Republican presidential ( Read more... )

Since I have the Chicago skyline as a prominent part of my LJ layout, I suppose it's only fitting that I give a YAY to the news that Chicago is the choice of the US Olympic Committee to bid to be the host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The bad news....  Because the Bears lost the Super Bowl last night.

Sorry for my last depressing post, folks. I was just in a crappy mood.

Some random thoughts...

• In my next life I want to be a TV weatherman, because then I could have a job where I'm wrong all the time and not get fired.  All weekend, they were warning us (in Chicago) of a nasty winter storm headed our way, with lots of snow expected.  On Friday they were saying maybe 8 inches of snow.
