we can leave town tomorrow

Today, I dressed myself as a cowgirl. I've got the steve madden cowgirl boots, distressed denim that is a good three years old, and a plaid fitted shirt. Honky tonk, I tell you. Carmen is going to shit herself when she sees me.

So, life in Orlando is always interesting. I think I've maxed out on my bad luck (or, it will last longer because C and I have combined ours....). Recently, my credit card doubled my APR to about 30% (or 29.99 as they like to tell me--apparently there is a huge difference in a few pennies a month), thus sending me to AmEx for a new one--only to be declined. I ran my credit report and two agencies showed me in the clear--yay! The third? 11 negative accounts, 23 previous residencies, five employers based out of boston and having to do with medical shit, and (this is the good one) another SSN! The guy tells me that we must have "merged identities" and I think, "How can you merge two people when they have different socials and birthdates" since those are required for any application? But apparently you can and apparently my credit will continue to suck for 30-45 days. AWESOME!

I put in my two weeks at work and they said I'd have to talk to the manager. The next day they let me do dirty work for two hours and then told me that "effective immediately" I no longer had to fulfill my two weeks. They then thanked me for my notice and asked me when I would start my new job. Hmm... I don't know....maybe in TWO WEEKS. So, that was the horrible fucking I got there. They didn't even let me say goodbye to my team or talk to the head of store. AND, this was after I put in a 13 hour day on the day the Vice Pres visited so that they would be adequately covered and could fake out how many associates we really have, how clean we really are, and what a great store we are.

So, now I'm jobless and ultra broke and living with my broke girlfriend.

Wait, my student loans come due next month and I can't get enrolled her until january unless I want to pay out of state (which I don't). In state is going to cost me like 4000, so obviously that is what I will wait until. Also, college friends, I was reminded how gross student loans are: I have borrowed 18,000 and will end up paying back 30k.

Can't we all go back to socialism? Well, as far as healthcare and schooling go? Please?

But, in far better news, I got to see my parents as part of a surprise visit to Texas for two days, during which I saw my sister, brother-in-law and niece. And she's more adorable than ever and talks and runs around like a crazy--all good traits in a three year old. On tax day my sister popped out the second kid, Derek, at a healthy 8 lbs and 12 oz. I shall call him Big Boy or something annoying like that.

My parents put in an offer on a house in Texas (I know, I know, I too thought it was going to be GA/SC). Honestly, it is four hours from any major city, but it is only 115k and is larger than the house we have in Vancouver. I saw a house while I was there in great shape with a little land and an indoor pool for 50k. It almost made me want to become a hermit and attend a christian school and live cheaply with a civilian job on base. But like most things, almost was the key word.

The new people I work with are kind of jackasses. But we cuss and play lots of music in the back and can listen to Ipods and they let me wear my piercing most of the time. Oh, and they pay me more and I don't have to open the store, count tills, or do any supervisory tasks (but I'm still a supervisor!). And when people mess up my shit I tell them to clean it the fuck up and now and I don't get talked to about it! Woot. Oh, and I work a retail job m-f 8-4:30. Um. Perfect? Yes.

I miss home, but that is to be expected. I will finish school and come back to the PacNW--it is my goal.

Oh, and lovely friends, it looks like washington is voting on domestic partnership rights. If you live there, vote. If you don't, campaign for it.

Less than five months until 21!! Woo. Vegas anyone? Come on, it'll be stellar. I'm probably booking tickets soon. Heather, Emily? Come on ladies! Let's paint the town.

I love to hear from you all. hit me up sometime. Or write. Or text. Or email. I accept any and all forms of communication.
