Grain Silo

I had been scouting this place out for years and finally got in last month. For a long time there was a a port security car that used to sit right out front. However it seems the company that used the property moved out and the car left with it. It just happened to be that we were in the right place at the right time and the coast was clear and we got inside. There is a gypsum place next door where a guy in a bulldozer will ride around right next to where you need to walk but luckily he was not around. Once inside we had to climb about 500 spiral stairs inside of a pitch black tube. You are quite worn out by the time you get to the top of this thing. We got there at a great time so that when we were ready to to leave the sun was setting and there was some amazing golden light.

I should also mention this grain silo was used as the main centerpiece for the firefighter movie "Ladder 49." I rewatched some scenes from it though and to me the inside of the place does not look like what was in the movie. There is another grain silo across the water that they converted into luxury condos and I suspect maybe they used that one for interiors since they were gutting it anyway.
