So a month or more ago we decided to go on a road trip on a whim. We headed for an old power plant we hadn't been to in over a year. Some bad intel we got told us the old entrance was now fenced up and we would have to enter through a more risky manner. This place is next to a public park which seems to always have people in it at all hours. You had to climb the fence next to the park and then through a 2nd fence to get in. The barb wire on the fence was not cut but rather just mashed down. You could climb a tree and then jump over the barbed wire and the rest was pretty simple. Getting inside wasn't a big deal. It was early enough and kind of rainy outside so no one was in the park. So we got inside and all was well. It was supposed to be a very rare January 50 degree day so I wore basically a t-shirt and hoodie. Except inside of this concrete tomb it had to be in the 30s. I was freezing my ass off and the place was wet as hell which did not help. However we experienced the strangest phenomenon once inside the turbine hall which was the inside of the building was actually all foggy inside. It wasn't even foggy outside, just a little drizzly. I was kind of bummed because I thought the fog would ruin my shots but it actually looks kind of unique and helped diffuse some of the harsh light from the windows.

Around this time we decided we wanted to leave. We were going to try for the other side with the alleged sealed up fence. However there was a strange car parked on the street looking right where we had to walk across in plain sight. We saw the window move down to flick out a cig so we knew someone was inside. There was a similar vehicle at another power plant driven by security. Being that this isn't exactly a destination area it was a strange place for a car to be. So we decided we would have to go back out on the park side.

So we climbed out of the exit and snuck over to the 1st fence. Lucky for us it had just started to rain so there was only one guy in the park and he was just walking a dog. I went first and got through the hole in the 1st fence and headed for the 2nd one with the barbed wire. Without a tree to grab on it was much harder to climb. I reached for the tree but could never grab it. I ended up just having to throw my gear over and try and stand on the barbed wire and jump over. By the time the other 4 got over the fence we had many cuts in our clothes and some were bleeding. But we did not get seen so I still say it was a good day.
Later that night after uploading some photos I got a message from a guy saying he was there that same day about 30 minutes after we left. He told me he just walked through a hole in the fence on the other side. So our info about that being sealed up was wrong and we did a lot of work for nothing. And the guy in the sketchy car had just driven away by the time we got around, he was no one. Sometimes that is just how it is.
