So, okay, it was raining when we got to Animal Kingdom.  A lot.  But we stuck it out in plastic bag ponchos and hit a couple of covered rides first.  The African Safari was in covered jeeps with overhangs that kept my camera dry.  We didn't expect to see much, because, you know, RAINING and we figured the animals would be hiding from the rain like ( Read more... )

Mandrill island.  Tour guide guy says these are some seriously nasty monkeys.  They looked pretty mellow when we went through.

Hippo sleeping underwater.  The docent dude said he can sleep underwater for about 5 to 8 minutes and then come up to breathe WITHOUT waking up.  Dude, I wish I could learn to go to the bathroom like that... (TMI?)

Note: the animals were moving. I was on Range Rover/Jeep thing... that was moving. So that these shots came out as well as they did is a miracle. :)

Because the elephants were being beyond awesome.

Yes, I did catch that far right elephant spraying water through his trunk.  Oh yes... :)
