BAT-SPAM! (1/2 just on the bats)
So I took something like 750 photos yesterday. A little over 80 of them were in the bat exhibit, because these bats ROCKED! In broad daylight, in the middle of the day, they totally put on a show.
Now, to be fair, the one that was most interesting and active is *very obviously* male. So if you have small children around who will point and go, "What are THOSE things on the bat?" you might consider some of these shots NSFW.
But wow... the bats were so ON.
Look carefully. There are more bats than you see at first in this shot. :)
You can see itty-bitty bat toes! He looks like a Navy Midshipman out of Hornblower who got tangled up in his hammock.
And we unfurl like a flag... And hang by one foot.
Love the finger/hook on his wing. Makes it really, really obvious that their hands have become their wings.
Um... bat balls. Much.
I *love* the way his wings curled in this shot.
