A Little Getaway

Here's to holiday weekends - especially when they coincide with tax return time! The wife planned this little excursion, based out of the very fine Boardwalk Plaza and we are enjoying excellent service and the best of amenities. We were kind of beat when we arrived yesterday evening and contented ourselves with a quiet casual dinner in the hotel pub, and then retired to our room (me with a bottle or two of Yuengling for later). We slept last night with the heat off and the balcony door open, making for not only very cozy snuggling under the thick blankets, but for a wonderful night's sleep as well. The sound of the waves breaking on the sand drifted in and surrounded us all night long, lulling us into deep and peaceful sleep.

We enjoyed a leisurely morning, and breakfast at a great little place on ocean block of the Avenue. The wife had the best blueberry pancakes ever - with big plump fresh blueberries. Next we embarked on some shopping at the outlets, finding some great deals on needed items and one or two fun, frivolous things as well. I may have finally found underwear at the Jockey outlet with which I am happy! I also treated myself to a new pair of running shoes in celebration of meeting my first goal on my way to 300 miles this year. I hit 25 miles on Wednesday of last week! The new shoes were needed, as my twenty dollar pair from Target was beginning to take its toll on my knees and ankles. I broke them in this afternoon at the hotel's gym, and had a great run.

The wife is resting now, but will soon be enjoying a soak in the tub with the fancy bath salts our maid left us this morning, and then after a bit we will be off to enjoy dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Eden. Later, we will be joined by friends at the best/only(?) lesbian bar in town, The Frog Pond. I plan on enjoying every moment!
