Author:
thedorabangsPairing: YamaChii
Genre: Romance, slight angst
Summary: A high-handed love that has started to slip and nosedive
Swearing forever and ever we held each other.
He darted down the busy streets of metropolitan Tokyo aimlessly; pure blots of white falling lightly on his shoulders.
It felt cold, he’d say, like his life without him.
Your slight difference with the you I’d been searching for is the shadow time left upon you from goodbyes and this morning’s abruptness
He’d waly and stare and walk, just like those same old days; a hobby he started since the day he called it quits. Walk and stare and walk, wishing to find his face amongst the crowds.
For 3 years he didn’t stop no matter how much it failed him. he didn’t stop thinking he’d succeed one day.
And he did.
“Yuri?”
“Y-yamada-kun,” He smiled.
Even though I’m envious of the fake fur which filled in that interval, I can’t turn back the hands of time
Who was he? The reason behind that smile. Had he been doing his best to fill in the gap I left?
And somehow he regretted it. He regretted how he was already for smiling for someone else. He wished he didn’t let him go.
But he did.
And now it’s too late.
Let me look at you so much I can’t even bear to blink.
‘It’s been,” he surveyed his equally surprised features, “a long time.”
My feelings have persisted below the freezing point
He swore he could pick up the reddening of his cheeks. And he bowed his head and pursed his lips. He stood there, heart beating erratically on his chest, as he did his best not to fall in-love with him all over again. His littlest actions served as fuel for his heart’s somersaults.
And that’s when he realized he never did stop loving him.
“Can I treat you out to coffee?”
Just like warm latter hidden softly under the surface, your tough edge too, inclusive of it all, I’ll vow to love you
Yamada took a sip from his cup, loving the warmth he gulped down his throat. Somehow, the coffee tasted better. Somehow, the blend was a blessing to the tastebuds.
It reminded him of them, of what they were.
That every storm that came to their relationship, just like bitter black coffee, when mixed with creamer and sugar, turns to perfection; they become stronger, their bond deeper. They were opposites in every way possible but they were the perfect match.
And Yamada finally decided, it never is too late.
Bring our lips together, further apart than they were at the beginning and blame the interrupted tracks of our footsteps on the snow
As words escape their lips, the awkward too dismissed. The picture that was soon vague had the colors start to be vivid.
They had missed this. They knew they both did. How they could just casually exchange small talks as if nothing happened.
Chinen giggled, “What happened between us by the way?”
It was supposed to sting, right? But it didn’t. And he smirked slyly, “Winters bring you sexual frustration?”
The other boy made a face, a very playful one, “It does not you, bimbo!”
“I am NOT BLONDE!”
“Oh, so you admit that you’re stupid?”
His arms found his sides to tickle him senselessly.
Eversince my right pocket emptied the nights of lies that piled up on you constrict my chest
“How’s your little boyfriend?”
Chinen wish he could read his mind. Weren’t topics like this,”Kusunoki-kun?” awkard?
The other boy nodded.
“He cheated on me.”
He couldn’t find the words. “Oh.” But he bet if he were here, he probably would’ve been dead by now.
“Yeah,” Chinen smiled, eyes glistening with… tears? “It sucked. Everyone cheats now.”
Saying it couldn’t be helped, I console you.
His hand found his way towards the younger boy’s hand, “I didn’t. I don’t and I won’t.”
Surpassing the coincidences that fall and pile up we found inevitability
Maybe it was truly because of the snow; Because of the cold that they both found warmth with each other.
But with every assurance, there remains doubt.
“But,” His fingers wriggled in his palms, “You’ll get tired.”
He returned it with a smile, “Everyone does, Yuri. Everyone makes mistake too. But that doesn’t mean they can’t make things better.”
Yamada could only stare in shock as he withdrew his hand from him, “I have to go.”
He headed to the door, his figure disappearing in the crowd.
Shit.
I won’t surrender it anymore. White breath, a bustling street so as not to lose sight of you
His head snapped from left to right, cursing under his breath to have not found the person he was looking for. Sighing deeply he looked up and his eyes brightened.
“Tokyo Tower.”
---
He found him there, face blank as tears welled up his eyes.
He made a mistake, and he knew not to make the same thing again.
He did what he had to. He did what he wanted to. He did, as if on impulse, what his heart told him to do.
He held him close, lips touching lips,
“I’ll never ever let go of you.”
---
The bells of reunions resound in silvery whiteness
Seeping into opportunities and futile strategies
A high-handed love that has started to slip and nosedive
Swearing forever and ever we held each other
Same old day, same old season. Same old path, same old faces.
What wasn’t so usual though, they both knew, was the path of footsteps they were about to embed in the snow together.
