I'm almost done with my next Blur cover, and my hand is seriously cramping up so bad that I'm a little scared and will probably go to the doctor after I get paid next week. Yesterday we celebrated the 4th early because my little cousin's birthday is actually today, but he wanted his party on Saturday.  Fine.  So we had some barbeque over at my aunt's house and lit some fireworks (and almost burned the neighborhood down, but that's neither here nor there).

Me and my mom have temporary custody of my brothers 4 month old black labrador.  His name is Rox (say hi, Rox!).  Rox is a little spastic, but so very adorable.  He and Kal already have an annoying little brother/put-upon big brother relationship.  Rox bites on Kal's ears, cheek, legs, and Kal tries not to kill him.  You know, like real siblings.

My tournament was today. I won 1st place for my kata (forms) and when it came to sparring, I was the only woman competing with the men. I got 2nd place!

These competitions are nerve racking but an insane amount of fun.

This Saturday is my second ever Karate Tournament, so our instructors forced us to practice Wednesday and Thursday night.  We had mini sparring matches and on Wednesday night I achieved my first short term goal by beating my good friend (who, in my opinion, is the best female sparrer in our school) and winning "first" place in the "women's division ( Read more... )
