April is Poetry Month
Okay, so here's the deal. I'm taking a poetry class at my college and one of our alternative assignments (instead of doing a paper) is to do a poem-a-day challenge for April that's based off of this blog. I decided to do all of my poems either from Joker's point of view, or about him and what he might think.

An Aquaman poem.
No Respect
Aquaman gets no respect,
in a world that doesn't understand
that he can do more than talk to fish.
He can swim faster than a torpedo,
communicate telepathically with any creature
of the unfathomable deep -
which he's seen.
His body is like tempered steel,
almost as hard and natural as an uncut diamond

Interrupted
Groggily, Bruce forced his eyes to open despite their desire to stay shut. Okay, so that was his own desire to keep them shut because his eyes were not a separate identity from Bruce Wayne despite whatever his sleep fogged mind came up with. All he knew was that he had finally fallen asleep and the goddamned sun interrupted that.

The squeals and whines of leather on damp skin create low undulating tones across his high cheek bones, which appear to be painted white in the rippling puddle.

Doesn't Have the Heart
He’s getting really tired, but he forces himself to stay awake.
Camped out at the foot of Bruce’s bed, Dick waits dutifully to see his… he doesn’t know what Bruce is to him at this point, but he does know that he wants to see Bruce before he goes to sleep.

The old man knew he had too many problems
and continued to search the bottom of his bottle for answers.

Streaks of primary colors paint the sky
with promises of truth, justice, and the American way.
