No Respect
Aquaman gets no respect,
in a world that doesn't understand
that he can do more than talk to fish.
He can swim faster than a torpedo,
communicate telepathically with any creature
of the unfathomable deep -
which he's seen.
His body is like tempered steel,
almost as hard and natural as an uncut diamond
thanks to the harsh pressure of leagues of water
that only Superman could probably withstand.
And he's not even from this planet.
Why does an alien,
a being with no natural reason
to exist in this sector of the universe
recieve more accolades
than the King of Atlantis?
The ruler of two thirds of the planet
is baffled by this,
by the filthy nay sayers/
But he harbors no ill will,
is not bitter.
He only watches, a land walker
stupid enough to tresspass
on his domain
as a starved shark circles the shore
waiting for a chance to strike.
If they want to mock him
he won't see a chance to save
them from their stupidity.
From the transluscent, tranquil waves
and below
he knows his people
are sufficiently equipped
to acknowledge him -
especially after this display
of his 'only' power.
[A/n: Hahaha I suck at poetry all of a sudden. Oh well. This is still amusing.]
